Job Description – Community Manager

famiizuu is currently seeking a creative, self-motivated, professional event coordinator for a rolling 1 year contract position as a Community Manager. In this exciting role you will help to plan, co-ordinate & execute fun and educational programming, crafts, speakers, events and field trips for our members , plus oversee everything event-related to famiizuu.


Program Co-ordination in General

Creating and customizing events from famiizuu curriculum and program guide
Personally planning, organizing and facilitating select programs in Milton on a weekly basis.  These programs will be your priority and the bulk of your programming role.
Act as a membership ambassador and liaise with members
Be supportive of the famiizuu organization through Social Media (comment & like Facebook posts, retweet posts on twitter, comment & share blogs)
Participate and contribute in weekly famiizuu Team Meetings. (approx 1 hour per week)
Ensure the famiizuu calendar is complete with mandatory programs plus extra programs as outlined  by Sam Kassam-Macfie and the team
Respond to all program pass inquiries and membership related questions received by email and facebook
Lead the event team by overseeing all events and scheduling
Help plan, set-up, run and tear down all large events such as seasonal family parties, sales and events.
Occasionally blog about a special program event or general marketing of the above outlined programs.


More Specifically

Have a lesson plan prepared for each session of your programs, outlined quarterly, using our Monthly Themes and Educational Curriculum
Plan and Run 3 events per week minimum (6 hours per week)
Check calendar for comments on your programs a few times a week
Help with promotion & execution of major events that are member based (Christmas, Easter and Halloween Parties, M2M Sale, famiizuu funfair)
Would love your input and creative ideas to support activities and events!



An Early Child Education or Event Planning diploma, or relevant work experience is an asset
Outgoing, dynamic leader who is creative, organized, highly self-motivated
Strong communication & interpersonal skills
Vested interest in children, parenting and events
Comfortable circle/story-times and craft activities for children
Passionate about supporting and connecting a mom community
Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and day care in place if necessary.

This position would require an average of 8-10 hours per week committment.
